Leaving the hotel at 08:30, we take a drive through the rolling hills that encircle Huế to visit the serene tomb of Tu Duc, the ‘poet Emperor.’ The tomb is set in an elegant garden of pine trees and frangipanis, with a magnificent lake and pavilions surrounded by a stone wall. Next we visit to the Tomb of Khai Dinh. Although at first the tomb appears to be an unexciting concrete building, it is a fascinatingly strange combination of Vietnamese, Chinese and European styles. After lunch at Ancient Hue Restaurant, our tour will continue at The Imperial Citadel, the seat from which the Nguyen Dynasty ruled between 1802 and 1945. Then, visit Thien Mu Pagoda, one of the oldest ancient architectural structures for religious worship in Huế. Once the visit is concluded, we enjoy a boat trip along the romantic Perfume River and disembark at the pier of Mr. Ngo’s House for dinner with recital. As well as being a professional singer and a painter, the owner and her husband are also avid wine enthusiasts and possess a private wine collection which, with over 3,000 bottles, is considered one of the largest in Vietnam. There is the opportunity to enjoy a drink with the owners before strolling through every part of the house on a guided tour. If you share the owner’s passion for wine, you will be invited to partake a wine tasting experience in the couple’s expansive private cellar (optional extra at own expense).

Before dinner is served, enjoy a moment of relaxation with a half-hour live music performance by the owner before taking your seat for a delightful five-course meal of modern Vietnamese cuisine at your private table. Once you have sated your appetite, our guide will escort us from the elegant abode back to the hotel. Hotel – Pilgrimage Village
