Day 1: Welcome to Amsterdam.
On arrival into Amsterdam International Airport you will be welcomed by a representative who will assist with your transfer to our Amsterdam hotel. Should our rooms not be available at this time, we can leave our luggage and take a walk.
This evening your Tour Escort will advise of what they will be doing for dinner and you are welcome to join them.

Day 2: Amsterdam (B,D)
This morning after breakfast we will check out, leave ours bags and take a tour using the Hop On/Hop Off bus.
Upon return to the hotel we will be met and transferred to our river cruise ship for boarding.
Upon embarkation of the ship, we have time to settle into our cabins before this evening’s Welcome Cocktail, followed by a specially-prepared Welcome Dinner.

Day 3: Amsterdam (B,L,D)
This morning we enjoy a city tour of Amsterdam including a canal cruise and then making our way into North Holland where we will explore the countryside which includes a visit to a local factory to learn about Holland’s famous export – cheese.
Rejoining the vessel in Utrecht, we begin cruising the waters of The Netherlands
Freshen up and enjoy this evening’s dinner.

Day 4: Cologne (B,L,D)
We awaken in Cologne, the fourth-largest city in Germany, with its skyline marked by the twin spires of the Cologne Cathedral among modern buildings. New blends with the old in this metropolis. After a morning walking tour in the city, you may want to visit nearby Siebengebirge National Park and Drachenfels rock (additional cost). Germany’s first nature reserve, with the world-renowned Hotel Petersberg, is a great way to spend the afternoon.
Back onboard this evening, cruise through the passage of the Lorelei as our ship makes it way to Oberwesel.

Day 5: Oberwesel (B,L,D)
Today we visit the “Town of Towers,” so named because of the 16 towers still standing along the original city wall surrounding the town. Oberwesel is home to two Gothic churches located on opposite ends of town – both worth a visit.
We will take a walking tour of the city and have time to sit and admire the beautiful views.

Day 6: Miltenberg & Wertheim (B,L,D)
Two historic cities on the river Main are included today on our walking tour or you may like to enjoy a day of cruising.
In Miltenberg, a city flanked by the river Main and an incredible forested hillside. In this unique town, see one of the oldest inns in Germany, the Hotel Zum Reisen and the Miltenburg Castle.
Continue by bus to Wertheim, explore the medieval streets with its half-timbered houses and glass museum, all watched over by the two-clock tower on the hill.
We rejoin the ship in Wertheim in time to refresh and be ready for a beautifully prepared dinner.

Day 7: Würzburg (B,L,D)
Today we are in Würzburg, a city in Bavaria known for lavish baroque and rococo architecture, located in the centre of the Franconian wine country.
On our walking tour this morning, we will experience the many beautiful sights of the town such as the marketplace, the Maria Chapel and the old main bridge, the Marienberg Fortress and the surrounding vineyards. As the central hub for wineries in this part of Germany, Würzburg is the perfect place for us to visit some of the local wineries for tastings.
This afternoon the ship will continue down the river, to Bamberg.

Day 8: Bamberg (B,L,D)
After breakfast we begin our exploration of the Imperial city of Bamberg on a walking tour. This medieval town is a UNESCO World Heritage site and is home to the UNESCO World Cultural Heritage site. This medieval town retains its medieval layout of three settlement areas, and Baroque facades.
Relax onboard this afternoon while cruising the River, as our ship makes it way to Nuremberg.
This evening enjoy a talk about the creation and importance of the Rhine-Main-Danube canal.

Day 9: Nuremberg (B,L,D)
Following breakfast, we enjoy the day in Nuremberg.
We will take a morning city tour that includes a visit to the romantic Old Town of Nuremberg, lovingly restored after the destruction incurred during World War II.
A hub for history, Nuremberg is home to many museums including the Documentation Center, which recounts the effects of the Nazi Regime and World War II on the city and surrounding areas. A guided tour here is offered here this afternoon should you wish to attend (additional cost).
Back on board, it’s full steam ahead for Regensburg. This evening we cruise the passage of the Continental Divide.

Day 10: Regensburg (B,L,D)
This morning we arrive into the beautiful city of Regensburg, one of Germany’s most well preserved medieval cities. Among its architectural treasures are churches, monasteries, the town hall, and one of Europe’s oldest bridges, which has spanned the Danube since the 12th century.
Explore the city on our walking tour and feel the former power and wealth which once controlled the trade route to the Orient. Step inside the Regensburg Cathedral, dedicated to St. Peter, and admire this masterpiece of Gothic architecture in southern Germany.
Spend the afternoon cruising the waterways of the Danube.
A Bavarian theme surrounds the evening with a special menu and festivities.

Day 11: Passau (B,L,D)
Our next port of call is the three-river city of Passau, located at the confluence of the Danube, the Inn and the Ilz rivers. High above the rivers, the Veste Oberhaus 13th century fortress houses a city museum and observation tower.
On our afternoon walking tour we discover that the old town of Passau is filled with outstanding Baroque architecture, including St Stephen’s Cathedral containing the largest pipe organ in the world with 17,974 pipes.
This evening, enjoy dinner as we continue to beautiful Emmersdorf.

Day 12: Emmersdorf, Durnstein, Wachau Valley & Vienna (B,L,D)
We awaken early this morning in Emmersdorf, in the heart of the UNESCO-protected landscape, of the Wachau Valley. We will spend the morning across the river in nearby Melk and its magnificent Benedictine Abbey, the largest in Austria and a seat of higher education.
After lunch onboard, the ship will dock in the village of Dürnstein, known as the “Pearl of the Wachau”.
Spend the afternoon on a walking tour through the romantic village with its iconic blue church and winding streets, and sample the local wines.
We continue to cruise and arrive into Vienna. There is an evening concert, ‘Sound of Vienna’, at a local music hall available (additional cost).

Day 13: Vienna (B,L,D)
There is much to see and explore in the impressive Imperial Vienna as we go out on this morning’s city tour.
After lunch, the remainder of the day is at leisure or you may choose to go on an excursion to Schonbrunn Palace, the former Habsburg summer residence of Empress Maria Thersia (additional cost).
Late in the evening, the vessel departs to Bratislava.

Day 14: Bratislava (B,L,D)
The ship arrives in the capital city of Bratislava and we will embark on a city tour for the morning.
The old city walls, the summer residence of the archbishop, and the current residence of the president of Slovakia are part of the charm of this city. Walk through the restored old town, from Michael’s Gate, where you can admire the Primatial Palace and St. Martin’s Cathedral, a former coronation cathedral for Hungarian kings, to the Academia Istropolitana, the oldest university in the city, which dates back to the 15th century.
We will enjoy a guided tour of the Imperial Schlosshof Palace in the afternoon.
This is evening we will all enjoy the Captain’s Gala Dinner whilst the ship makes it’s way to Budapest.

Day 15: Budapest (B,L,D)
This morning we enjoy a city tour exploring Budapest, the capital city of Hungary.
A large portion of this city is a World Heritage Site, including the banks of the Danube, Andrassy Avenue, the Buda Castle quarter, Heroes’ Square, and the Millennium Underground Railway. With 80 geothermal hot springs, the third largest Parliament building in the world, and the second largest Synagogue, there is truly something for everyone to enjoy in this bustling metropolis.
Our afternoon is at leisure or you may choose to go on an excursion to Godollo Castle (additional cost).
This evening, a Hungarian folklore show and evening cruise through the “Paris of the East” on your Amadeus Vessel is a perfect end to the cruise.

Days 16: Budapest (B)
This morning we are bid farewell after breakfast and transferred to the Budapest International Airport for our flights home.
